This Sunday we had a guest preacher - Rev. Jonathon Moyers - with us.
The Gospel for this Sunday was Matthew 18:15-20 where Jesus teaches that when conflict arises within the community, believers should seek reconciliation through honest, respectful conversation, involving others only when necessary to restore the relationship. He also assures his followers that God works through the gathered community and that Christ is present whenever people come together in his name.
Reflection Questions:
1. How do you typically respond when someone hurts or offends you? Do you seek reconciliation or avoid the conversation?
2. What makes it difficult to address conflict directly and lovingly?
3. Have you ever experienced healing or restoration through a difficult but honest conversation?
4. What role should the faith community play in supporting reconciliation and accountability?
5. Is there a relationship in your life that God may be calling you to help restore?
6. How might practicing reconciliation be a witness to God's grace in the world?
Prayer:
Gracious God, soften our hearts to seek reconciliation with one another, trusting that your grace is at work even in difficult conversations. Gather us in your love, and remind us that wherever your people come together in the name of Christ, you are present, bringing healing, peace, and new life. Amen.
