Transfiguration Sunday

On Transfiguration Sunday, we are reminded that while mountaintop spiritual highs are uplifting, true faith is lived out in the valleys of everyday life, as Jesus leads us down from glory to face challenges, inviting us to journey with him through Lent toward Easter.

Reflection Questions:
1. Why do you think Peter, James, and John wanted to stay on the mountaintop with Jesus, and how does this reflect our own desire to remain in moments of joy or comfort?

2. What does the transition from the mountaintop to the valley teach us about facing difficult times in our lives?

3. How does the experience of the Transfiguration prepare us for the journey through Lent and the challenges that come with it?

4. In what ways can we recognize Jesus walking with us during both the highs and lows of our spiritual journey?

Prayer:
Gracious God, As we come down from the mountaintop moments of joy and wonder, walk with us through the valleys of daily life. Remind us that your love shines not only in glory but also in struggle, and that in Christ, we are never alone. Guide us through this Lenten journey, strengthen our faith, and unite us as the body of Christ, trusting in your promise of resurrection hope. Amen.
