5th Sundays of Easter

This past Sunday, Pastor Amanda preached on Jesus reassuring his troubled disciples in that he is preparing a place for them, offering an inclusive and eternal hope that strengthens believers to live out God’s love in the midst of a broken and often divided world.

Reflection Questions:

1. What stands out to you most about Jesus’ words, “Do not let your hearts be troubled,” and why?
2. How do you understand Jesus’ claim, “I am the way, the truth, and the life,” in your own faith journey?
3. How can Christians hold onto eternal hope without ignoring the real pain and injustice happening in the world?
4. What does the image of a “big house with lots of rooms” teach us about God’s kingdom and who belongs?
5. Where is God calling you to keep sharing love and hope, even when it feels difficult or discouraging?

Prayer:

Gracious and loving God, you tell us not to let our hearts be troubled, yet you know how heavy they can be. We come to you, trusting not in ourselves, but in your grace revealed in Jesus Christ, who is the way, the truth, and the life. You have prepared a place for us, a dwelling wide enough for all your children, where your mercy is greater than our divisions and your welcome knows no bounds. Strengthen us by your Spirit to live in that hope now,
to share your love in a hurting world, to resist fear and exclusion, and to follow where Christ leads, even when the path is hard. Keep our hearts anchored in your promises until the day we are gathered into your eternal home. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
